Have you ever flipped through a really great design annual and checked out the work from great designers around the world? It can be a humbling experience, seeing all that insight and talent condensed into a single book.
Now imagine the amazing work you’re seeing comes not from big-name designers in New York, Berlin, London, etc., but rather from a boutique branding shop in Phoenix: OVO. That’s humbling squared. Working for another local agency that tackles similar projects, I know that we’ve got to step up our game if we ever hope to keep up with these guys.

Flipping through their new portfolio book, which they’ve put out to celebrate their first four years in business, you’ll be solidly impressed with every page. Ovo’s work oozes simplicity, clarity, purpose, cleverness, and originality. It’s full of lovely visuals, and we now keep a few copies around the office as a source of inspiration.

Don’t expect an objective, even-handed review of this book from me. It’s awesome. (I am in literal awe of their work.)
To launch their new portfolio book, OVO recently held a well-attended “Spring Soirée” at their charming little office in Phoenix. It was attended by the usual Phoenix notables, including the always popular Chase Granberry (photo by Acme Photography):

Congratulations to OVO for four years of fantastic work. We’re looking forward to seeing what they have up their sleeve this year.
(Also, a special note to Kyle: I still want some of those pickles!)
Very slick, indeed. I find myself craving production specs. Just from the three images posted, we’ve got die cuts, spot varnishes, shiny mirrored things and…is that cover an embossed wood grain?!
I want one.

Thanks so much for the kind words. That means a lot to us. I’m glad you guys liked the book. It was great to have you all at the party too.

Kudos! Got one of these little jewels myself and was super impressed with the quality of work in the book! Too many cool examples to list any favorites just yet.
James,
Agreed! Very elegant and simple – just like Hildebrant.
Seriously, it’s a great book. And, they have an awesome office.
