Layer Tennis is a Photoshop competition where two competitors swap a file back and forth in real-time, adding to and embellishing the work. Each designer gets a certain allotted time to complete a “volley” and then send the file back. It has featured some really great designers in the past including Phoenix’s own Joseph Allen Kohlhas.
As part of the efforts of Phoenix Design Week to bring together the design community, Phoenix Layers was recently launched. It will put a local spin on the idea of the Layer Tennis style competition.
The site is accepting applications for participation until July 20th. You can challenge an old friend, a new enemy or leave it blank and get a random match up. Its for agencies, freelancers, in-house designers, anyone who can prove they’ve got some skills beyond the filters menu.
